WD40 is great for this. I'm not sure if you get it
in the UK (I imagine
so), but if not I'm sure you get CRC (is it 5.5 or 5.6 thats the
WD40-alike? I forget, anyhow) - which works just as well.
"White Spirit" or "turpentine substitute" will work as well, if not
better.
