I'm old--I can remember body-end-dot resistors.
Often caleld 'body-tip-spot' over here. And yes I rememebr them. Heck, I
still have some. The other day I came across 3 disks of cardboard of
difiference sizes joined with an eyelet at the centre. They're colour
printed, each colour sector having a digit or a string of 0's in it as
ppropraite, they're labelled 'body, tip, spot'. You line up the
apporpriate colours and read off the value. My father had this thing in
the 1950s.
