(Wouldn't a hardware manual and/or programers manual help here?)
Indeed. I've read through the Manual of Operation for the 650 and it
makes no mention or reference anywhere about any sort of timer feature at
all.
But in the spirit of the times, does any hardware facility have any
time-related side effect that could have been exploited to extract time
from? (Besides the obvious calibrated-subroutine hack.) Or does the
feature have to be explicitly a "time-keeping" hardware facility?
In this case it would have to explicitly be a hardware facility. If no
documentation turns up to show that there was such a device, the onus will
then be on the defense to prove that the 650 in question *did* have a
hardware time-keeping facility.
