I'm not sure about the application, but I suspect it's for jobs such
as soldering copper sheet, such as one might find on gutters and
flashing. You really don't want to use a bare flame on that stuff--
it doesn't take too much heat beyond that required for soldering to
make copper sheet deform.
If you were building a large Faraday cage for your gear, it might
come in handy.
