The rule of thumb appears to be "If you don't want your acronym
rendered into lower case, don't make the acronym pronouceable."
We have RPG and APL, but Algol-W and Fortran 90 (although we also
have FORTRAN 77 and ALGOL-60) and ChucK; COBOL but CobolScript; C but
bc...
I'm okay with laser printers and radar sets.
Examples abound--as long as the usage is more or less accurate, I'm
not bothered by the capitalization or lack thereof by others.
