Collecting Kaypros for fun and profit

The most collectable would be the early CP/M systems. Their later DOS-based machines were not all that memorable. These machines include the Kaycomp, Kaypro II, Kaypro IV, Kaypro 1, 2, 2x, 4, 4x, 10, 12, and the Robie. The Kaypro 16 and 16/2 were DOS machines in Kaypro 10/12 boxes. Kaypros are great to collect! Parts are available from most electronics suppliers. A complete technical manual is avaiable from Dave Baldwin at The Computer Journal (TCJ). Spares can be obtained from any local Goodwill or flea market. There is no greater satisfaction than that gotten from canibalizing an old IBM XT to rebuild a Kaypro!
