One desktop machine I received came with a homemade dust cover ..
made from denim.
HP calculators and desktop computers from the 70's came with fabric
dust covers, the material feels like a light cotton canvas.
As Chuck mentioned you can throw them in the wash, rather than having
to dust off the dust covers. Fabric also folds up much more nicely
than plastic, to get them out of the way when removed.
