I guess so. As I understand it, a USB calbe consists of a balanced
(differntial) data pair and a balanced power pair. Messing about with one
wire of a pair nad not the other could make matters worse...
However, I would think that anything that's hadron-frer is unlikeyl to be
solid ;-)
