In the interest of public information:
The BNC connectors do, indeed, carry composite video.
These (at least the model I have) contain a "kill switch" in the little add-on
that's bolted to the back of the machine. In order to get power to the internal power
supply, you must have the switch depressed -- or the "cover lock" bolt in the
locked position.
