It's easier just to shrug your shoulders and keep a Windows (or DOS!)
box around than try to deal with vendors targeting products for the x86 market,
who know that almost all of their sales will go there. It's also easier for them
to lock up all of the device protocols selling binary drivers into the Windows
market.
