I think that MSX is between CP/M and a Z80 MS-DOS.
MSX was sorta a competitor to CP/M; too late.
I would imagine that even in Japan at that time, MSX received a
lukewarm reception. NEC had the lion's share of the PC market then.
TRON was more of a success, at least in the ITRON embedded area; were
there any CTRON platforms successfully marketed?
