Are you sure about that 70V? I've repaired Olivetti M24 PSUs (what we
call the AT&T6300), and there's only the +5V and +/-12V outputs. Now, 12V
is present on the monitor connector, and it would certainly kill a
Centronics interface, but I doubt very much if there's anything higher there.
Well, that's what my hardware guy at the store said back when we got
the news, back when I was still doing retail software support. I'll
admit that I've never measured it myself nor owned one -- my AT&Ts
are all 7300/3B1 series. If he told me wrong or made a mistake, it
wouldn't be unique in my experience. I did see the CPU and printer
in the store -- it looked like all of the magic smoke had escaped
from both units.
