I'd guess that it's different compiler options, or different #defines
and other pre-processor malarkey. Or *the same* #defines that just
happen to optimise for one platform and not the other.
You're gonna have to profile the code. Unfortunately I'm not aware of
anything that will work on both Linux and OS X.
Urr? What about prof/gprof?
