Sounds like
you just need a single 9VAC power supply, a bridge, a
voltage regulator, and perhaps some caps to clean up the signal a bit.

The 9VAC has to be a separate transformer winding from the one that provi=
des=20
the +5VDC eventually, because of how it's used...
What about a transformer with 2 separate 9V secondary windings (not hard
to find)? Use one for the 9V AC, the other to feed the 5V
rectifier/regulator circuit.
I don't lnow what the maximum volage allowed between the 2 secondaries of
small transformers is, but it should be easily enough for this application
Alternatively, you can (could?) get 'transformer kits'. A bobbin with a
pre-wound primary winding and a pile of laminations. You wind the
secondaries (the turns/V figure is givne in the instructions), then
assemble the laminations.
