Proprietary to Philips/LMSI, yes.

inside the RRD50 box
No, the RRD50 isn't SCSI. It's just a CM100, so it talks via the
proprietary interface to DEC's Qbus or Unibus host adapters. And AFAIK,
those host adapters only support the RRD50 (or CM100).
