I've seen rumours that you can convert a
PDP-11 RK05 disk into a PDP-8
style by swapping out the sector hub on the bottom.

I've done this in the past to change a crashed platter with a new one.
But usually, if you have the correct sector hub you already have a correct
disk pack for a PDP-8 (if it's not crashed). Just swapping doesn't make
much sense.
