I've done this in the past to change a crashed platter with a new one.
But usually, if you have the correct sector hub you already have a correct
disk pack for a PDP-8 (if it's not crashed). Just swapping doesn't make
much sense.

Well, I have a crashed PDP-8 pack and I can get a PDP-11 pack for a
resonable amount. PDP-8 packs seem to be about 2x as much. So the theory
was buy a PDP-11 pack and move the sector hub.
