recollection is that the CG3 (and the CG6 as well) is a fixed
rate card for 1152x900x8 at 66Hz.

Not being familiar with any but the SBus cards, I guess I should
clarify that I don't recall any way of selecting any other resolution
on either the CG3 or CG6 SBus card. But I also must admit that
my experience with the 6 is much, much less than with the 3. I
have no idea whatsoever about non-SBus CG3s or 6s.
However, I would dearly love to be proven wrong. If there is a way
to set the SBus CG3 to a 1024x768 mode that a vga monitor can
handle, I'd love to know. So far, I haven't come across an LCD
monitor that syncs to any of my IPCs or SS2s with CG3 cards, but
I'm definitely going to keep my eyes open for the Samsungs that
Alan mentions. I have higher hopes for the two CG12s I've got
since I remember them working at 1280x1024.
