Where are these places!? As far as I can tell, every one of 'em that once
existed in the Boston area is gone. No more Solid State Sales, Eli
Hefron's, Electronics Superstore, etc, etc. There aren't even a lot of
thrift stores in this area.
Has Eli's closed the surplus store? It has been a while since I was there,
but I assumed that they still existed.
The only sources I know of around of here are the MIT
flea and a small
surplus store in Manchester NH that doesn't carry much beyond components and
some old test equipment.
Now I wish that there was an MIT flea like event happening on a monthly
basis here in the Chicago area. I always try to make it to the MIT flea
when I am out that way, and a friend of mine who does live that way goes
regularly. It is a great source of "finds".
Can anyone tell me where within 200 miles of Boston I
can find a decent
surplus store or liquidator? Or any contacts for auctions or even dumpster
diving? I'm getting desperate here...
Since I don't live there anymore, I haven't kept track.
