Speaking of failing memory, I seem to recall that they do "Sync on Green",
and I assume the standard VS3100 monitor cable would have BNC connectors,
so a good Multisync monitor probably can handle it. Dunno, never really
though to try, and I don't have a cable.
Looking at the back of my VS3100 m30, it's got a connector like a
Macintosh, instead of a standard VGA connector. But I've got a VT420
plugged in and am using it as a VAXserver 3100.

Um... I did get a vaxstation 3100 to work with a
multisync 4d (if memory
serves)
once, although the cable setup eludes me, as does the exact model of
vaxstation.
I THINK I used the vaxstation's cable and plugged each of the plugs into the
corresponding socket on the Multisync. This has all been a long time ago now
and it was a strictly "I wonder if this will work" kind of experiment so
naturally there was no documentation.
So there might be some small chance, depending on WHAT VGA monitor you want to
use, and whether you're willing to risk its life and health.
