I ran "abort, retry, ignore" BBS. In San
Jose (408 area code)
A fido node with 1 2400 baud line! 20mb of HD
running on a Televideo color IBMXT clone!
Mine was 'Mount Olympus BBS' out of Laurel, MD though it was
physically located in a friends house on Bolling Air Force Base and
running off of a Leading Edge XT clone. I never became a FIDO node
but was quite active on FIDO up through about '95 or so.
One of my favorite boards was also run just a few houses
away, called 'TandyDC'. It was run off of a TRS-80 Model 2000 using
the FOSSIL version of GT-Power and it was a TRS-80/Tandy support BBS
run by a guy by the name of Bernie Skoch. His house was stacked with
TRS-80 equipment and this was in the late 80's.
Does anyone remember the graphics BBS' that used vector graphics (and maybe
some small bitmaps) for everything? What was the name of this?
