Today I picked
up a HP 7958B unit which contains a "Bauart Gepruft model
97533-60051" Hard Drive. It is my understanding that this Hard Drive is an
MFM Hard Drive
The HP 97533 is a 160 Mbyte drive. It was available in several
interfaces, but none of them were MFM. Seeing as how you've already
identified the 34 and 20-pin connectors, I'd wager that you've got
the 97533E, the ESDI interface model.
Ah, yet another ESDI, it really is starting to look like I need to get one
of these systems running off of one of the ESDI cards I've got! That's the
4th ESDI drive I've ended up with.
Stupid question, is there a good way to tell ESDI drives from MFM drives?
