I'm sure that a few geezers remember the 6 ft. long giant slide rules
hanging just above the blackboard used to teach the use of the thing.
I recall a "spiral" slide rule in a round cylindrical package also.
Done to extend the length of the scale but not the physical length of
the rule.
And then there were the circular slide rules. Never used one.
