Have you checked any input fuses on the power supply?
I'm not familiar with this particular machine or its supplies,
but if you heard a bang, I would assume something combusted (or
at least expanded very rapidly). Sometimes explosion evidence
can hide under components; I've found that sticking my nose very
close to the circuit (powered off, of course) can help me find
a problem even when there was no significant externally-observed
smoke.
