hood off - the tube lights up, so there's power and action. If I disconnect
the data cable from the motherboard, I get a single dot in the center of the
screen.

on the parallel port you can grap tv signal and syncs, in my first 8032sk
the 6545 was dead, but mainboard was alive, I made a cable first to see if
it was the monitor.
