Indeed. COnsider several resistors in series -- 50 - 100 1M
in series would seem to be OK. A recomended way of mounting
them is to 'wind' the chain round a plastic strip. That way,
points at very different votlages are kept apart.
So I can make a discharger with some resistors and a bit of plastic? Sounds
very Blue Peter (UK kids after-school TV show) :o) What's the best way of
getting a probe under the rubber hood on the HT lead to discharge the tube?
