Hi,
Does anyone happen to have the schematic of one of the SCSI->MFM/RLL
boards ? I have the Adaptec ACB-4000 and Xebec S1410A board documents
from bitsavers but thy only have the schematics for the computer end.
I've reverse-engineered a couple (Omti, certainly), but I am not sure the
shcematics would do oyu much good. From what I remember every one of
these boards that I've seen consists of a microprocesosr (standard), RAM,
firmware ROM and a number of ASICs which handle the SCSI handshake,
buffer memory control, ST412 interface, data encoding/decoding. etc.
Without a lot of data on the ASCIs (Omti were better than most, there are
some data sheets avaiable), you are not going to be able to deduce much.
