Ram,
I missed the first part of this thread so I'm not sure exactly what
you're looking for. But I have some rack mount PCs that use a passive back
plane if that's what you're looking for. They have a 486 CPU on a plug in
card. The case, back plane and cardes are all made by Advantech. Contact me
directly if you're interested.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, they are still
rather expensive
compared to the barebone PC :-( Wonder if I can pick up a used one
somewhere.....

Subject: Re: Rack mount for ISA bus
Is it a rack drawer for a passive backplane that
you want, or do you want
a
rackmount PC box to accomodate a normal
motherboard?
I've occasionally received advertising literature for
"industrial-strength"
rackmount PC enclosures, but have never seen an
offering which would fit
the
description "powered passive ISA backplane.
For a powered passive ISA backplane, try Jameco. You can buy the chassis,
the passive motherboard (either 14 ISA, or a 10 ISA and 4 PCI combination),
and the power supply separately. Or you can get the chassis with power
supply (300W) for $400, and the backplane is $70 or $120 for the combo
ISA/PCI.
