I am _not_ convinced. Think of all the
demountable disk packs (RK02's,
RK05's, RL01's, RL02's, RK06's, RK07's, RM02's, RP04's, CDC
Larks,
RC25's, etc, etc, etc). Can you still get _new_ drives for any of those?
CD-ROMs have the advantage that they are far more widespread than any of
the above disks ever dreamed to be. They are world standards, as oppossed
to company-specific standards. With the music industry behind them,
Like eight-track tape? (I still have a few).
