I'm looking at the iPDS prints on Bitsavers and it looks as if a head
load signal is asserted on pin 4 of J3, so I wonder if your -RV drive
has a head-load solenoid. Motor on is supplied through an 8255A and
the prints show 2 and 34 on J3 to be NC, so you don't need to provide
a "ready" signal.
In any case, a plain old 5.25" 720K drive should work just fine.
