After all: USB originates from intel. Did we ever
get somthing well and
proper designed and engineered from intel?

Hmm. My (optical) microscope is modern enough to contain a couple of
semiconductor devices (a Triac in the lamp supply, for example), but
nothing more. On the other hand, I'll bet it's got a better resolution
than this Intel thing (Zeiss optics are well respected...), and if I want
a record of what I am looking at, well I have an adapter to put a camera
on it.

intel's "intel inside" stickers are useful for labelling vacuum chambers,
restrooms, etc.
Actually, I've wanted to stick them on machines that contain Intel chips,
jsut not Intel CPUs. For example my HP9800s (which contain a lot of 1103
DRAMs), my PERQs (microcotnrollers and the CODEC chip), and so on.
