It can get down right ridiculous.
I once worked for a company in the UK who were working on some hardare
which was being developed in Japan. The Japanese sent over three or four
prototypes which, for reasons I now forget, we never used. A few months
after the Japanese asked that we ship the protoypes back for scrapping!
I dread to think of the costs involved.
