As usual the bulk of the argument was semantics and differing definitions.
Depending on the definitions, even LIM EMS could be considered to be
"memory-mapped" "Virtual" memory.
Even Magnetic Drum memory would meet some definitions.
We all seem to like a good technical argument, but we never seem to be
willing to clarify the terminology until late in the discussion.
