Also people seem to have different definitions of "work". My last foray

XMOS isn't much better about that (the boot procedure isn't particularly
documented) but at least once the mysterious init code has jumped to your
code, it never comes back, and the hardware's barely been touched (and is
very well documented) so you can help yourself and away you go...
