I've also seen a moulder US 115V plug wit hthe
earth pin cut off,
presumably so it would go into a 2 pin socket. Ouch!.
Ouch indeed. I've got one of those. Well, not "cut off", more like
"pulled out" - there's a hole in the plastic of the right size to hold
the missing pin. I've been wondering what to do with it; the thing on
the other end of the cord is a six-outlet power bar, which would be
convenient, but I'm not comfortable using such a thing without working
ground. (Actually, that's not quite true. I have a moderate number of
devices with unpolarized two-pin plugs, which I wouldn't mind using
with it. But it's hard to make sure I don't lose track of which
powerbar it is and plug in something that assumes a ground.)
I probably should cut the plug off and wire on a proper one....
