Both sources would appear to be pretty reliable, but they can't both be
right. Does anyone have any suggestion how I might determine which is the
more accurate?

The MicroVAX FAQ lists it as 1991 - I doubt if it is as late as 1994 -
it's basically the same technology as is in the 4000/90A, so it might be
worth cross-referencing with that model introduction.
