I find that my B&L Stereozoom 4 does just fine. The funny thing is
that I can remember using that model scope as a dissecting microscope
when I was still in school--a very long time ago.
That's when the US built things to last.
I re-did the spot illumination on mine by taking the head from a free
9-LED flashlight and hooking it to an old cellphone charger. Fits
perfectly on the stand.
