Except that you can't use the software until you *copy* it into
your computer. The courts have ruled that it's copying whether you read
it into RAM or write it to a hard drive.
By the same token, you cannot 'use' the contents of the book until you
have 'copied' it into your mind! But doubtless, courts do not see it
that way.
