Another alternative would be to find single-pin
sockets for the wires so
Either AMP or Molex (I forget which, maybe they bot do make a series of
conencotrs conssiting of a chell and indificual pin contacts, the
contacts fit completely around the header pins. You can buy a box of the
contacts, solder wires to them (assuming you don't ahve the correct crimp
tool) and insulate them with heat-shrink sleeving. Then push them onto
the header pins.
Maplin (of all people) do a set of 'PC extension wires) or some sumch
make whcih have single-pin socket at one end and a sninge-pin plug at
hte other. Those would appear to be ideal, the socket will fit over the
heder pin, the plug will go into a solderless breadboard (I've used them
as such). The only problem is they are about \pounds 4.00 for a pack of 8.
that I could connect wires directly to the IDC header
on the MicroVAX 2000
system board on an individual basis. I have searched for these but not found
anything, do these things have a name?
I suppose I could just buy or make a simple 60-way ribbon cable and push the
wires from the breadboard into the socket on the ribbon cable.
I think that's what I'd do.
