I used to fight "baud" vs. "bps". Not only was it not worth the

I still do, and will continue to do so. Unlike 'LASER' .vs. 'laser' (where
there is no confusion), 'baud' and 'bps' are actually different things.
And amny times, at least for the sort of things I work on, it matters. A
lot.
I wasted, in the end it became irrelevant, as datacom
speeds accelerated
to the megabits per second now seen on home DSL/cable connections.
So? The data rate makes no difference to the concepts. 1 Mbps is not the
same thing as 1Mbaud.
And anyway, this is classiccmp, were some of us use 110 baud teletypes
still :-)
