Even Solaris 2.6 will be painful on one.
NetBSD runs very nicely on an LX. About ten years ago, I had a whole
slew of them dedicated to different tasks on my home network...a
nameserver, a news server, a mail server, a file server...all running
NetBSD and performing their jobs quite well.
