The DEC FS people who used to service the VAX-11/750
(this is late 80s, early 90s) and the associated
RA60 were actually pretty good.
That was my experience as well... the guys we had working on our 11/750
were pretty good (c. 1984-1988). I wasn't quite as impressed with the
MicroVAX guys, though... they were a bunch of board swappers.
