but I know that Halon's a no-no because it eats a hole in the sky. So

The only computer "safe" extinguishers are gas type (CO2, Halon, etc).
Water and powder will both can cause extensive damage. My extinguishers are
Halon. I don't worry too much about the ozone. After all, the extinguishers
will never be activated. Right?
