That i s odd because I have generally had helpful
replies from all the
people I have contacted, at MOSI, The Science Museum and The National
Museum of Computing in the UK and Al at CHM. Al has been especially help
I did state 'UK museums', which excludes Al. I agree he has been very
helpful with information over the years.
My experience is tht UK musuems are much mroe touchy about copyright and
are less likely to allow you to make copies of docuemtnes they own.
Incidentalyl, one of my books on clock repairing makes a comment like
'Museums are gret if you want to see a TOmpion or a Knibbs. But never
donate anythign to one. It'll get stuck in storage and will never been
seen again. Much better to let somebody ejoy it'. I susepct this has
coloured my judgement of computer museums too.
