Use a 300 Oersted (360K) diskette.
BULK ERASE the disk before writing to it with the 80 track drive.
A disk that has been bulk-erased, and then formatted and written by 80
track is significantly different than a disk that has been written to by a
40 track drive, and then RE-written by an 80 track drive.
Although the 80 track 96tpi (1/4mm) spacing drive is easily able to
double-step to do 40 track, it's head is about 1/6mm wide, and doesn't do
a good job of REwriting something that has ever been written to by a 48tpi
(1/3mm wide head with 1/2mm spacing) drive.
