Yeah, I spent a summer coding C#; working in Maui, great co-workers,
but writing C# in Visual Studio under Vista really soured me.

I prefer the "C++ is stapling on extra legs on a dog to make an octopus"
line, but I'm not sure who said it. D looks really promising from what I've
read, but not having used it for any real project, it's hard to say.
