There were related problems when I volunteered at Bletchley Park about 19
years ago. It was not at all cleaer who was responsible for what In my
case this had the (fairly tribial, I guess) result of being unable to get
any official documentation (ID card, etc to get into the computer museum
to work on their machines.
On my last visit, I could not convice the staff on the gate that I was
working there, and had to pay the entrance fee. THis did not please me. I
was giving my time free of charge. My father was giving his fuel free of
charge to get me to/from the museum. And the last thing I wanted to do as
to have to pay fto work on the machines. So I gave up. Looking back, I am
glad I did.

That statement worries me a lot. In general, 'Improving the visitor
experience' means 'dumbing down'. L:osts of 'artistically designed'
displays with no real information.
YEs, I dod feel that msueums should be places where you can learn. Yes, I
do wish for a return to the days of showcases of exhibits with proper
descriptions. And, of course, machine-type exhibits, like comptuers,

I feel it's mildly ironic that a museum covering the history of events
that led to the downfall of a dictator should make a statement like that.
