I think that
the venerable 6888 pentode was designed specifically for Grid 3
computer logic applications.
I think the 6888 was developed for the SAGE processors, and perhaps
only used there. Every 6888 I have seen - and that is a *lot* of them
- has had an IBM/SAGE part number.
