I know that Gary's buddies urged him to sue Microsoft, but he just
wasn't that sort of person. It could have gotten pretty costly,
considering that BillG would likely have had his daddy's law firm
(Vogel & Gates) handling the case on a priority basis.
I think Gary would have had a better shot of suing Seattle Computer
Products as they were the ones that originally cloned CP/M for the 8086 (and
licensed the codebase to Microsoft (for years---eventually Microsoft would
buy the license outright from Seattle Computer Products)).
