Indeed. I used to write everything in Turbo Pascal... and I never ran into
something I needed C (or another language...) for.
I learned Pascal using Oregon Software Pascal II. You had to write your own
string libraries... which is a good learning experience if nothing else...

Most people that hate Pascal probably only used standard
"official" Pascal. Turbo Pascal is *very* extended - there is not a whole
bunch of things it won't do that C will.
