That's been done. I THINK the guy that did has a website explaining the changes.
The most difficult part was finding an AT compatible keyboard that fits the case. Compaq
did make some (used in a 286 version of the Portable) but they're not easy to find.

it. Got an IBM proprinter also at the time, but that is now long gone.
